A&T is to implement a project for setting up Multimedia classroom Lecture Capture with Live and on Demand Webcasting in 6 classrooms and 2 Seminar halls at the prestigious PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Rsearch at Coimbatore. This is the first of its kind project in a Medical institution in India.
The Institute spread over a sprawling campus along with its 1000 + beds hospital is known for maintaining very high level of standards in infrastructure, faculty, technology and training methodology. The need for this project was felt as part of technology based learning and modernisation programme to develop the multimedia based curriculum as well as to add value for students by offering them anytime access to recorded lecture sessions.
The project will use state of the art capturing encoders from in each lecture halls with a central server for content Management and on Demand webcasting – all from NCAST, the leader in Streaming Rich media communications. PSG institute will develop the curriculum for all years of its graduate and Post graduate medical courses.and plans to eventually build a massive multimedia digital library. The lectures would be accessbile from the Institutes' website for their students who get authenticated.
A & T's Design & Engineering team has provided the design for the AV integration and will implement the project, train the faculty, & offer onsite engineering support for a period of one year.
